on the path…from the L.A. aquaduct.
Friday, July 14th, 2006Mr. Truppi, Has asked me how L.A. water tastes compared to
Raleigh.
I’ve mostly washed dishes with tap water. I guess some people don’t even boil it to cook with.
Tim just received a water quality report in the mail but I haven’t looked at it yet. We were tryinig to figure out where L.A. tap water came from. I thought it was from the Colorado river. Someone told me that it came from the L.A. Aquaduct. Which may be 1 in the same.
I’ve seen the Los Angeles River and it’s Concreted in. I think because it controls erosion, and helps prevent mudslides.
Herb would know. Maybe he would enlightlen us a bit with a comment?
The water from the “pure water†store tastes wonderful. It tastes like reverse osmosis filtered water.
I liked Raleigh water though.
I got use to drinking it out of the tap at my place on Glenwood.
When I boiled L.A. water to make coffee it seemed to taste fine. It tasted heavy, more mineral-like. Maybe that was the flouride.
This week my boss has hipped me to this Italian mineral water called S.Pellegrino. He said he got it from Whole Foods and so far it’s the best tasting. Then again his office (house)
is stocked with it and has been more of a perk than something I’d shop for. Tastes good with lime I’ve discovered.
I’ve been told not to drink the tap water by several people.
One day after a 4-5 mile hike in Griffith Park, I had some water out of a free standing waterfountain. I consider that experience beginner’s luck. It tasted really heavy.
I’ve read that Durham tap water has the local award for best tasting tap water. mmmm watery.
Have a good weekend everybody.
